When you work in home staging, you quickly find that very few homes are naturally perfect. There are always features that you will want to minimize or hide as well as those that you will want to accentuate or embellish. Windows are some of the most important features of any home, and yet many rooms have windows that are too small or narrow or are simply out of place. When staging or designing a room, knowing how to make the most of the existing windows can make a large difference.

One of the most common problems in living rooms and bedrooms is a lack of proper windows. In many cases, a large exterior facing wall will contain only a small window. While proper furniture placement can certainly make the room more attractive, the effect of the window on any room should be significant.

A great way to handle a small window is to create window treatments that span well beyond the window. A set of functional curtains or blinds that center on the window but span a large section of wall can give the room a much more spacious and inviting feel. The curtains can be slightly sheer to allow in light or can simply be opened in the middle to offer illumination. This design, when tastefully employed, will make the room feel much more open for potential buyers.

Another common problem is basement windows. In many cases, these windows are small and narrow and positioned at the top of the wall. They serve very little functionality and let in only minimal light. In many cases, the windows can also be somewhat unsightly. An excellent way to dress up these windows is to use floor length curtains, drapes, or window treatments. This will give the look and effect of a larger window and can make a finished basement remarkably inviting. In a home where basement rooms are used for habitation or entertaining, the effect is certainly a welcome one.

The windows in every home are different, and learning how to make the most of them will be a crucial part of staging. Most buyers are looking for homes that are bright or that offer a beautiful window décor. When you do not have the windows that you need to offer this effect, tasteful and stylish window treatments can be enough to create the look and feel that your buyers are seeking when they walk into your home.

If you’re trying to start a home staging business, you might be wondering how you are actually going to get paid. This is one of the important steps in setting up a business – determining whether you’ll take checks, cash and/or credit cards.

The ability to accept credit card payments is appealing to home stagers, especially since the amounts you’re getting paid are usually quite high. Setting up a merchant account, however, is very expensive. Not only do you have to pay a large sum to the bank just to apply for and then set up the account, you also have to pay a certain amount each month regardless of whether or not you have any transactions. In addition to paying these fixed fees when you do make a sale, they usually get to keep about 5% of it.

I don’t recommend you get your own merchant account, but I do suggest you set up a PayPal account for your business that will allow you to take credit card payments.

PayPal is essentially an online bank that allows you to accept and send payments and transfer funds to your regular business bank account. There are no fees to set it up and there are no monthly costs. If you have a client who also has a PayPal account, they can send money from their own account or they have the option to use their credit card instead. This is an easy and less costly solution then having your own merchant account.

Even if your client doesn’t have their own PayPal account, they can still pay you using a credit card through PayPal.

By the way, it doesn’t matter where you live since you can choose the currency you want to use when you set up your account. But beware of switching your PayPal balance between different currencies. Their rates are awful! This is not an issue if you’re doing all your business in one country.

Of course, PayPal will keep a percentage of your sales, but it’s roughly what you’d be paying for your own merchant account through the bank to accept credit card payments. In some cases PayPal takes an even smaller percentage of sales than your bank would with a normal merchant account. But because there are no set up or monthly fees to worry about, I feel it’s less costly to go this route.

If you are going to sell your property, you have to prepare it. You have to make it look good for the possible buyers. One way of doing that is through home staging.
Many ignore the importance of staging. Many claim that it is not necessary as long as you get good photos of the property. After all, you can easily upload it online. However, this is not the case. It is true that photos are uploaded online to help home buyers decide. However, if your photo is not appealing, your property will not get noticed. In order to have a good photo, you need to have a good subject, and that is your house.

Home staging is important because it allows you to enhance the best assets of your property. If it has a nice garden, you can highlight that by properly arranging the tables and chairs outdoors. If you have a spacious living room, you can present that well with how you arrange the furniture. Proper organization of the furniture also lets the owner of the house to work around the flaws of the property. He can angle the furniture in certain ways to make the space in the living area seem bigger. He can also add drapes on the wall to add softness in the room.

It is important to stage your home today because the competition in selling the property is tough. Bear in mind that there are a lot of property owners who are selling their homes. If you do not prepare your property well, no one might notice your home.

Proper staging of your property also allows you to host an open house. This way, you can invite potential buyers and market your home directly. You will not be embarrassed to show it to them because everything has been organized and decorated for the property to look its best.

Another reason why home staging is very important is because it allows you to evaluate the property. You can check if there problems with the property and you can have it repaired. You can also do the necessary changes to improve it value. At a time like this, you need all the help you can get sell your home at the best possible price. Most importantly, it will also add appeal to your home. If you do not stage your home, you will not be able to attract a lot of potential buyers.

There are a lot of reasons why home staging is very important. It helps you bring the best out of your property. This leads to giving it more appeal and improving its value. Most importantly, it helps you attract a lot of buyers which is the most important thing when selling a house.
